Enjoy and relax…

Welcome to 'finca-oliva' located in the heart of the Costa Blanca. The finca (country house/farmhouse) is completely newly built on an old ruin, 320 meters above sea level in the village 'Bolulla' and offers a spectacular 360° view of the Mediterranean Sea and the impressive 'Sierra de Bernia' mountains.

Just 9 km from the coast (Altea - Calpe) and with sea views, the finca offers an oasis of tranquility, away from the hustle and bustle of the Costa. Enjoy a drink by the pool or on one of the terraces, or read a good book under the olive trees on the property.

Our Belgian family will be happy to welcome you. We speak Dutch, English, French, German, and are working hard on our Spanish. It gets better everyday! Our family consists of two sons (ages 11 and 13), us (Sam and Sofie), and our pets. Len attends the last year in primary school in Bolulla, while Lio studies at the college in Callosa d’en Sarria, a city very close to here.

Because we know it firsthand, we pay special attention to people with autism. We offer clear and visual communication, predictability (menu boards, info boards, signs etc.), and quiet corners. We understand that communication can be challenging at first, and we respect everyone as they are.

Finca Oliva only has 2 spacious familyrooms (yes… only 2, so be quick!), each with its own bathroom and toilet. All rooms have their own entrance for maximum privacy and independence.

In the rooms is a fridge, kettle, spacious wardrobe with safe and air conditioning/heating. You have a smart-TV and superfast Wi-fi (also at the swimming pool…). Towels (bath and pool), shower gel, shampoo, bodylotion and hairdryer are provided in the room. You can find more information on the following pages of this website.

Finca Oliva has a spacious bar and leisure room, 'CAVA BLANCA.' This common area features an honesty bar, vending machine, TV, computer, library, and a play and bar area. You are free to use it at your leisure or as a working space for meetings, team buildings, retreats. There are plenty of games for both young and old, drawing supplies for the little ones, and children's books. On colder days, we serve breakfast and diner in this room, all together at our large table.

On the property, you can enjoy a game of darts or kubb. We have a giant ConnectFour and TicTacToe. Next year, we are working on additional outdoor play facilities.

The swimming pool is open year-round, and sunbeds are available for your use. Pool towels and sunbeds are free of charge, as well as the high-speed internet by the pool. If occupancy is sufficient, the pool is heated in spring and autumn. Due to the growing awareness of the importance of using energy responsibly and caring for nature, we are unable to heat the pool year-round

Our family has three cats and three dogs, all of whom are very child-friendly. Rico, our Swiss Shepherd, roams freely and knows his way around the property. He is not allowed in the guestrooms, and he knows this. He is also not allowed to swim in the pool. Rico is a great 'bellboy' for familiar guests. Although he can be a bit shy at first and tries to protect our home, just give him some space and no attention when you arrive, and he will soon become a loyal friend. Yes, he will miss you when you leave!

We also have two very small Pomeranian dogs, Pablo and Luna. They are adorable and love everyone from the first moment, though Pablo can be a little 'macho' for the first few minutes. They are two energetic little dogs that thrive on attention. In the evenings, they usually end up sitting on everyone’s lap.

Basiel, our oldest cat, was found on the streets of Belgium. Now, eight years later, he lives with us in Bolulla but prefers to stay on the second floor and balcony. At night, he enjoys taking long walks in the surroundings. He is very friendly but often keeps his distance to observe. Our newest additions are Crema and Taco. Crema, a Siamese cat, was adopted from the Protectora in La Nucia, and Taco, who comes from Valencia, joined us after DANA. Both are very friendly and like human attention, although Crema can be a bit scared at first.

In our region, almost everyone has one or more dogs. Spain also has a significant number of stray dogs, so don’t be surprised if you receive occasional visits from neighborhood dogs. There’s no need to panic; they know their way around and will return home just as quickly as they came.

Oh, and let’s not forget our chickens! They are our little egg factory and an essential part of our waste management team. If we don’t eat it, they surely will!
